Who we are
Ihya, pronounced “ihh-YAA,” is an Arabic word meaning revival—a return to life, spirit, or vitality.
I started ihYA Studios from an interest in making objects that carry more than function. Objects shaped by material, construction, symbolism, and the experiences they collect over time.
I’m drawn to the way objects have historically carried identity and meaning. They were made to be used, repaired, kept, and passed on. Their value wasn’t separate from their use; it grew through it.
That idea guides my work at ihYA Studios.
Through leatherwork and design, I explore how familiar objects can be reconsidered through material, form, and craft. Each piece begins with a simple question: How is this made, and what else could it become?
ihYA is about giving familiar objects another life.
